Campbell's Tomintoul Special is a rare, high-strength (100 proof / 57% ABV)  blended malt Scotch whisky originally developed around 1962 by independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail for P. & J. Campbell, owners of The Glenlivet Whisky Depot. It was a niche, premium bottling featuring a strong Tomintoul component often produced before the official Tomintoul distillery opened in 1965. 

When Peter Campbell passed away, the recipe and brand continued for some time through his daughter, Ebeth Coutts, before disappearing from the market, making older bottles highly sought after.
