Ballechin 2007 12 Year Old Oloroso Sherry cask 173 - Straight From The Cask SFTC (50cl, 57.8%)

A cask strength Ballechin, which is another name for a heavily peated Edradour single malt! Distilled in April 2007 and left to mature in an Oloroso Sherry cask for the next 12 years. In July 2019 the whisky was deemed ready, and it was bottled for the Straight From The Cask series at 57.8% ABV. The 984 bottles were bottled without any colouring or the like, so all that brilliant colour and flavour comes... Straight from the cask.

Ballechin is the heavily peated single malt produced at Edradour. When Signatory Vintage took over the distillery in 2002, they installed former Laphroaig distillery manager, Iain Henderson, as Director of Operations, and inspired by his previous place of work, the first peated distillation at Edradour took place in 2003. Generally matured in a range of different wine casks, the first bottlings were turned out in 2006.
