Old Dublin Irish Whiskey (70cl, 40%)
An "Old Dublin" brand of Irish whiskey produced by Irish Distillers was launched in 1995 to compete with Cooley's products. This brand blended six year old malt whiskeys from Midleton and Bushmills and was known for its value-for-money offering.
The "Old Dublin Distillery Co." is not a widely known or currently operating entity as a standalone distillery. Instead, it is associated with the brand name "Old Dublin" used by Irish Distillers and the Dublin Whiskey Company, which was later acquired.
Formed in 1966 when the three remaining distilleries left operational in the Republic of Ireland John Power & Son, John Jameson & Son and the Cork Distilleries Company came together to pool resources and form a new Company, Irish Distillers Limited as a radical response to a lasting since the turn of the century slump and closure of distillery after distillery. Irish Distillers today is the largest distiller of Irish whiskey, distilling popular brands such as Jameson and Powers, in addition to premium whiskeys such as Redbreast and Midleton Very Rare.
