Founded in 1933, Ian Macleod Distillers established the brand as a premium, long-aged blend known for its smooth, slightly smoky, and salty profile, often winning awards.

Full size 70cl bottle of Macleod's Isle of Skye 8 Year Old, a highly regarded, budget-friendly blended Scotch known for its high proportion of Island (specifically Talisker) and Speyside malts.

A miniature 5cl of Macleod's Isle Of Skye 12 Year Old, an award-winning, high-malt content blended Scotch known for its exceptional balance of creamy vanilla, coastal brine, and gentle peat smoke with complex profile often likened to more expensive single malts, making it a "bargain" favourite.

A miniature 5cl of Macleod's Isle of Skye 18 Year Old Private Stock No 45, a highly acclaimed, award-winning blended Scotch featuring a high malt content (specifically from Island and Speyside) that delivers a rich, complex, and coastal experience. Created in 1933 by Ian Macleod to honour the Clan Macleod, this blend is anchored by island malts and considered a step up from the 12-year-old providing a more mature experience while maintaining a balanced profile.

The history of the MacLeods on the Isle of Skye is a rich, 800-year saga steeped in Viking ancestry, brutal clan warfare, and supernatural legends. Based at Dunvegan Castle—the oldest continuously inhabited castle in Scotland—the Clan MacLeod of Dunvegan, Harris, and Glenelg have held their lands in the northwest of Skye since the 13th century.

Created by Ian Macleod in the mid-1900s, the blend was designed as a tribute to Clan Macleod, which has been associated with the Isle of Skye since the 14th century. Ian Macleod insisted that every cask of Isle of Skye 8 Year Old standard, unlike many entry-level blends that use younger whiskies, spend at least eight years maturing, in line with the clan motto "Hold Fast". It is famously a blend of Island and Speyside malts, known for having a "hint of saltiness".

Ian Macleod Distillers, founded in 1933, was acquired by the Russell family in 1963. The brand is well-regarded for its age-statement expressions, including 8, 12, 18, 21, and 50-year-old bottles. In 2012, the brand updated its packaging to feature imagery of the sunset over the Cuillin Mountains on Skye. Despite being a blend, it has earned a reputation for quality that competes with single malts, and it is a staple product from one of Scotland's prominent independent family-owned distillers.
