White Heather 15

White Heather 15 Year Old (70cl, 46%)

White Heather was blended Scotch once produced by Clan Campbell Ltd, the owners of Aberlour Distillery from 1945 until 1974.

The name was acquired by The GlenAllachie Distillers Company in 2017. A resurrection for the White Heather blended Scotch whisky brand Billy Walker has reclaimed the White Heather brand and reimagined it as a prestige blend.

Marrying the finest Speyside, Islay and north highland single malts with specially selected grain whiskies, White Heather 15-year-old delivers a full-bodied whisky with exceptional balance between honeyed sweetness and subtle peat smoke.

Undertaking a complex dual maturation system, the whisky began its life in American ex-bourbon barrels and hogsheads, as well as a quantity of Spanish sherry butts. Once carefully blended, the spirit was re-racked into specially selected pedro ximénez and oloroso puncheons, along with American virgin oak casks, to enjoy secondary maturation at the Glenallachie distillery. Experienced master blender Billy Walker frequently monitored the spirit development to ensure optimal flavour experience was achieved.

White heather 15-year-old is proudly presented at a high strength of 46% abv, natural colour and non chill filtered, allowing the quality of the liquid within every bottle to speak for itself.

Glenallachie distillery was built by Mackinlays in 1967 to meet the demands of its blends following an upturn in sales in the US. Built as a small compact distillery, GlenAllachie was the fourth distillery designed by William Delme-Evans. The complete whisky making process was gravity fed and combined with unusual horizontal condensers it was a triumph of engineering and design. In its short history it has passed through the hands of Invergordon Distillers and Pernod-Ricard. During this period the focus was always on the provision of blends, with over 20 years between the first Mackinlay’s distillery bottlings of its single malt and the next official release from Chivas Brothers in 2005. Now in the hands of Billy Walker, Prior to 2017, when the distillery was acquired by master distiller Billy Walker, GlenAllachie whisky was most commonly found in blends. Glenallachie is finally being pushed as an increasingly popular single malt brand since 2017.
