The Dublin Liberties Oak Devil Irish Whiskey First Release (70cl, 46%)
Released in 2015, The Dublin Liberties Oak Devil is blended from Irish malt and grain whiskies aged in ex-bourbon casks and bottled without chill-filtration. The name is inspired by the Liberties area of Dublin, the centre of whiskey production during the 18th century.
The Dublin Liberties Distillery building dates back to the 1700s and is a testament to the industry of the area - it was originally a mill, and for many years a tannery which specialized in rabbit skins. It tells a centuries-old story which today, as the Liberties takes another step, is in many ways reminiscent of the heyday of masterful Dublin whiskey-making, that is again becoming renowned the world over. The Distillery is a state of the art craft Irish whiskey distillery. Using water from the well within the distillery, they will craft 100% malted barley to be laid down for their whiskey brands, the award-winning Dubliner and Dublin Liberties.
The Dublin Liberties range is inspired by the stories and the streets of the Dublin Liberties distillery. This range allows to establish a clear connection to the city and weave a common story, threading the range together, giving something ownable and unique in Irish whiskey, rooted in the corner stone on Mill Street, the Dublin Liberties Distillery.
