Glentauchers 7 Year Old 2009 - Hepburn's Choice (Langside) (70cl, 46%) ***sold***

A single cask Glentauchers single malt, aged in a refill hogshead from 2009 to 2016. It was bottled at 7 years old with an outturn of 320 bottles.

Glentauchers is an important single malt for blended Scotch, most recently a named component of Ballantine's. As such, it is rarely seen in single malt form. Over the years, some bottlings were officially licensed to Gordon & MacPhail, and 2017 saw a distillery bottling launched under the Ballantine's banner along with a Glenburgie and Miltonduff. Prior to that, enthusiasts were limited to seeking out independent bottlings like this one.

Langside Distillers started out as a blending company in the 1970s, producing Scotch brands such as B&B, Glen Drumm and John Player Special. They moved into the business of bottling independent single malts with their Douglas of Drumlanrig label in the 2000s, before becoming a subsidiary of Hunter Laing in 2013. Nowadays they produce its Distiller’s Art and Hepburn’s Choice bottlings.
